Kayamkulam: Police have received information that Nikhil Thomas allegedly shelled out Rs 2.5 lakhs for securing his fake M.Com certificate. He is said to have obtained the certificate back in 2020. Former SFI leader hailing from  Kandalloor is said to have helped Nikhil in procuring the certificate via an agency in Ernakulam. Nikhil deposited the money in the person’s bank account.

The Kandalloor native is suspected to be in Maldives at present. Police have procured his passport details and other required information which will be passed on to the airports. Source of the money will also be investigated. The police are of the opinion that Nikhil’s family does not have the financial capacity to bear such expenses.

Meanwhile, CPM ousted Nikhil Thomas from the party. He is still absconding. Kerala Governor has sought a detailed report regarding the incident.
