
Kannur: Police on Saturday recovered seven additional steel bombs from the site of the Panoor bomb blast. The recovery was made during the collection of evidence when one of the arrested individuals was taken to the location.
Following the retrieval of more bombs near the house where the explosion occurred, authorities have escalated their search efforts. So far, four suspects have been arrested in connection to the blast.
The detained individuals are Shebin Lal, K Atul, K K Arun, Sayooj, and one other who were reportedly present during the explosion of the country-made bomb. According to reports, all the accused are supporters of the CPM.
In contrast, M V Govindan, the State Secretary of the CPM, has denied any involvement of the party in the blast. He clarified that those arrested had previously been accused of assaulting party members and were no longer associated with the party.
The bomb blast, which occurred the previous day, resulted in the death of one person, while three others remain hospitalised.
