Kerala is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall from June 4 to June 9.

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has officially confirmed the onset of the southwest monsoon in Kerala. Widespread rainfall is expected across Kerala and Lakshadweep in the coming days.
According to the weather department, Kerala is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall from June 4 to June 9. Rainfall ranging from 7 cm to 20 cm is expected in some areas during this period.
In view of the intense rainfall, an Orange Alert has been issued for eight districts on Thursday: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, and Thrissur.
The rains are expected to remain strong over the next few days, with the intensity gradually shifting towards northern Kerala. By the end of the week, heavy rainfall is also forecast in Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts.
Authorities have advised residents in coastal areas to remain vigilant, as rough sea conditions are likely to prevail.
