Kochi: The discord between the probe officer and complainants in the Monson Mavunkal case escalated to another level as the latter has decided to approach the court for a CBI probe. The discord came to light after the crime branch submitted the chargesheet in the case.
One of the complainants, Shameer, alleged that the Crime Branch officials took a biased stand in the case to protect some highly connected persons and police officials. Similarly, the complainants alleged that DySP Y R Rustom, the investigating officer, sought money for various reasons and they have filed a complaint with the vigilance wing.
Shameer and another complainant Shanumon during a recent presser said that they will soon approach Kerala High Court seeking a CBI probe.
However, Rustom denied the allegations and said the complainants were worried about the investigation into black money transactions in the matter.
