Kochi: The Kerala High Court here on Monday has granted bail to Mohammad Suhail, the main accused in the suicide case of Mofiya Parveen, a law student in Aluva. Suhail's parents, the other accused in the case, had also obtained bail earlier.

Mofiya Parveen committed suicide after facing domestic violence in the name of dowry from her husband and his parents. The incident took place on November 23, 2021. 

Mofiya died by suicide after filing a domestic violence complaint against her husband and his parents. Her husband Mohammad Suhail is the first accused in the case. His parents Yusuf and Rukia are also booked in the case.

The charge sheet in the suicide case was recently filed by the police. Mofiya's family dismissed the findings in the charge sheet and expressed disapproval over not naming Sudheer, the Aluva CI in the charge sheet. The name of Sudheer was even mentioned in

Mofiya's suicide note. The opposition parties also staged a protest against Aluva police over lapses in taking appropriate action against the CI.
