Kollam: Actor-turned-legislator Mukesh on Wednesday expressed his dismay over the poor condition of the KSRTC depot in Kollam. Taking to his official Facebook handle, the MLA pointed out the authorities’ negligence towards the depot despite persistent efforts.
“After realising that the KSRTC bus depot building located in the heart of Kollam city was in a dangerous condition, as an MLA, I intervened in the matter as much as I could and a letter was sent to the concerned department stating to sanction Rs 1 crore from the MLA fund and another Rs 6 crore later,” Mukesh wrote.
He further added that the depot was in urgent need of a minimum facility where passengers could board safely and fearlessly. “If the management is not ready to offer it, then they will have to pay a huge price (folded hands emoji),” he said.
In the post, Mukesh also included the letters sent to former Transport Minister AK Saseendran and current Minister Antony Raju, along with the records of presenting the issue during the question hour in the Assembly. Meanwhile, several people have shared the MLA’s post on social media.
