Nilambur: MLA P.V. Anvar has raised serious allegations against top Kerala Police official ADGP M.R. Ajith Kumar.

Anvar accused Ajith Kumar of being involved in gold smuggling operations that have led to killings. He also claimed that Ajith Kumar may see a role model in drug lord Dawood Ibrahim. Adding to the gravity of the accusations, Anvar alleged that Pathanamthitta SP Sujith Das has connections within Customs that are exploited to smuggle gold through Kozhikode airport.

The allegations come at a time when a leaked phone conversation between Anvar and SP Sujith Das is in the spotlight. The leak has put the Kerala police's top brass in a tight spot, and Anvar’s salvo has made the situation uglier.

Anvar went on to say, "It seems to me that M.R. Ajith Kumar's role model could be Dawood Ibrahim. For someone to reach the level of activities he is involved in, they would need to study the lives of people like Dawood Ibrahim and be attracted to that. M.R. Ajith Kumar appears to be influenced by such figures. Ajith Kumar has appointed an assistant and established a special system in the cyber cell specifically to tap the phone calls of ministers and politicians," he alleged.

"I have a recording of Ajith Kumar's wife talking to someone else. She is speaking to her brother, but there's another person at the other end of the call. A murder has taken place. Both the accuser and the accused will appear before you. This is related to gold smuggling. A trader from Kozhikode, known as Mami, has been missing for a year. It is believed that he was taken away and killed, also related to another matter involving this group. All these issues are connected to the Karipur gold smuggling. When gold arrives from Dubai, Sujith Das gets information through insiders. Das has strong connections in Customs, where he previously worked. Customs officers detect gold during scanning but pretend not to notice. Instead, they pass the information to the police as the smugglers exit. The police then follow and catch them, seizing 50 to 60 per cent of the gold. This is their modus operandi. Sujith Das is controlled by M.R. Ajith Kumar."

He continued, "A faction within the Kerala police aligned with M.R. Ajith Kumar is working to undermine the party and the government, without properly understanding the Chief Minister's directions. When asked about the police's stance on an issue raised by the MLA in the Assembly, the police responded that there was no basis for it.”

“Is Ajith Kumar really aiding the government? I don't believe so," he added.
