Kannur: A woman who went missing from her home in Payyanur was found dead at another house in Annur here. The caretaker of the house was also found hanging at another location in Irul.
The deceased were identified as Anila, hailing from Mathamangalam, and Sudarshan Prasad, alias Shiju, a native of Kuttur, Irul. Shiju was found hanging 22 km away from the house where Anila was found dead. It is suspected that the man killed her before taking his own life.
The owner of the house, where Anila’s body was recovered, was away with family on a tour. He had entrusted Shiju to take care of the house and their pet dog. Shiju was not available when the house owner tried him over the phone, following which he informed one of his relatives. When the relative came to check the house, he found the body of the woman. He soon informed the police.
Anila’s husband had filed a missing complaint with the Peringome Police, who initiated a search for her.
Blood stains were found near her body. The police suspected it to be a murder. However, how she landed at that house remains a mystery. A probe is on in the incident.
