Kottayam: Ministers VN Vasavan and Chinchu Rani have come up with responses to the raging controversy over the dismissal of a temporary veterinary staff in Kaithepalam. Sathiamma, a temporary staff in the Kaithepalam veterinary hospital was dismissed allegedly for speaking in favour of Chandy Oommen on television.

“Congress is just politicising the issue. The government has no role in the dismissal of Sathiamma. It is the Kudumbashree that recruits people for filling the particular post in veterinary hospitals across thes state. It is a temporary post and the contract will expire in six months. It is known that Sathiamma was working in the Kaithepalam veterinary hospital in place of Jijimol, to whom the post was actually allotted to. She was even drawing a salary from Jiji’s account. The district deputy director of the Animal Protection Department received a complaint regarding the malpractice and rightful action was initiated,” says minister Vasavan.

Minister Chinchu Rani also said that the action was a normal procedure to a complaint,

Clearing the air on the raging controversy, the minister said that “The officer at the Animal Protection Department also instructed the officials to ensure that original candidates join for work in the future, that’s all”

Meanwhile Congress leaders had launched a protest in Puthuppally demanding ‘justice’ for Sathiamma.
