Thiruvananthapuram: Aneera Kabeer, who was mooting to seek euthanasia due to the discrimination she faced for being a transwoman, met Education Minister V Sivankutty at his office in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday.
The struggles faced by Aneera drew the attention of the public after Mathrubhumi published her ordeal. She was dismissed from a temporary job as a junior teacher in a government school in Palakkad. She was also denied jobs in several schools thanks to her gender identity despite having the qualifications. Following this, Aneera has appealed to the Legal Services Authority seeking the help of a lawyer to apply for euthanasia in the High Court. In her plea, she complained that she can not work and live as a trans woman in this country.
