
Munnar: Minister for Dairy Development and Animal Husbandry, J Chinchu Rani, inaugurated Idukki's first 24-hour milk vending machine in Munnar.
The milk ATM, located in the heart of Munnar town and launched under the auspices of Lakshmi Ksheera Sahakarana Sangham in Devikulam Block, allows customers to purchase milk at their convenience, any time of day. The machine dispenses milk based on the amount deposited, offering service around the clock.
Customers can deposit Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 50, or Rs 100 notes into the machine, which then dispenses milk equivalent to the amount, after placing a bottle or container. The vending machine has a storage capacity of 200 liters, with a target to deliver 1,000 liters of milk daily to beneficiaries. The Department of Dairy Development provided a financial assistance of Rs 1,20,000 for the project costing over Rs 4 lakhs.
