Shoranur: Last week, a mentally unstable man wandering aimlessly inside the Shoranur railway station was found asking cops for some ganja. He was desperate for the drug. The man is just one among the several drug abusers in the state who have lost their sanity.

The incident goes like this. On Thursday evening, police found a bag full of ganja on platform number 4 in Shoranur railway station. All of a sudden, a man, who seemingly looked 45-years-old, wearing dirty and spoiled clothes, walked into the scene. At first he was found patiently looking at the proceedings. His eyes were filled with ‘excitement’. And once the police took out the contraband, the man who lacked the ability to talk, tried to reach out for it. He was ‘eager’ to get hold of the substance. But the police warned him and made him stay away.

But the man was relentless in his efforts, he kept on pestering the cops asking them to lend him some ganja. He even offered them money, and put forth a handsome deal for Rs 700.

The cops had a tough time dealing with the mentally unstable man. They eventually left the scene with the bag of seized ganja. But the man who was a drug addict, was still found searching for bits and pieces of ganja at the place where police had recovered it. It was indeed a sorry sight.
