Mangaluru: Doctors and students of a medical college, including Malayalis, have been arrested in a drug hunt conducted by the police. A total of nine people have been arrested.

Those arrested were Suryajith Dev (20), a Malayali third year medical student, Aysha Muhammed (23), a malayali medical intern, Uttar Pradesh natives Dr Vidush Kumar (27) and Dr Isha Midda (27), Delhi native and medical student Saranya (23), Karnataka natives Dr Siddharth Pavaskar (29) and Dr Sudhindra (34), medical students from Telangana, Pranay Nataraj (24) and Chaitanya R Thumuluri (23).

As many as 24 people have so far been arrested in the inspections conducted by the police in medical colleges in Mangaluru. The first arrest was made on January 8. Police expanded the investigation into the matter after arresting the person who delivered marijuana to medical colleges.
