Thrissur: The Indian Medical Association (IMA) is of the opinion that mass vaccination drive held in stadiums and halls to provide Covid vaccines will increase the chances of the spread of virus.

The number of positive cases among people who took part in these drives are on the rise. IMA state president Dr P T Zakarias said that more number of vaccination centres must be established and only limited number of people must be made to attend the camps for vaccination following strict regulations.

It also predicts that within 10 days, the number of Covid cases may go up 10 times and hence oxygen supply must be ensured beforehand itself.

Oxygen supply must be ensured in private hospitals too. Kerala must confirm sufficient supply of oxygen in all hospitals and then only distribute it to other states. When the number of hospital beds are planned to be increased, it must be oxygen beds. Oxygen supply must be available in CFLTC and DLTC too.
