Alappuzha: A group of DYFI members in Kayamkulam resigned altogether from the organisation following difference of opinion between a faction of CPM workers and Kayamkulam MLA U Prathibha. 19 out of the 21 members of DYFI block committee resigned from the organisation.
DYFI Kayamkulam area president and secretary also are among the resigned members. Those who resigned alleged that the party leadership is not intervening in an issue existing between DYFI and the police.
The party does not support the DYFI workers in the issue existing between them and MLA U Prathibha. Also the leadership does not heed their request to take action against the police force who keep haunting the DYFI leaders, they alleged.
A letter in this regard was forwarded to the area and district committee leadership of the party. Meanwhile, the DYFI district leadership stated that a group of party workers have behaved in a way that tarnish the image of the organisation and that the organisation is not responding on the same at present.
