SDPI CPM
Alappuzha: Alappuzha CPM witnessed a huge turmoil over alleged links of the party secretary to the SDPI unit. As many as 38 party members, including four branch secretaries of the Cheriyanad south local committee, submitted their resignation letters.
The party members alleged that an SDPI leader is the business partner of CPM local committee secretary Sheed Mohammed. They also accused the local committee secretary for the victory of SDPI in his ward.
According to the complainants, the local committee secretary abstained from conducting anti-communal drives announced by the state committee. The party members had raised complaints against Sheed Mohammed earlier too. Hence, they informed the party that their resignations were on account of the delay in taking action against Sheed Mohammed. The letter handed over to the district secretary R Nasser asserted that they will not continue in the party if action is not taken against Sheed Mohammed.
