Thiruvananthapuram: Mariyakutty, the 78-year-old Idukki native who staged a unique protest in Adimali Town seeking widow pension arrears, reiterated her opposition to the CPM-led LDF Government in Kerala.
While attending an event organised by 'Save Kerala Forum' near the Secretariat on Saturday, Mariyakutty stated that she would attend functions organised by all parties except the one led by Pinarayi Vijayan.
Earlier this week, the septuagenarian was among those invited to share the platform with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the BJP's Mahila Conference in Thrissur. Mariyakutty defended her decision to attend the BJP function by claiming she had neither hugged nor kissed Modi like Pinarayi did.
"CPM asserts I'm with the Congress in the morning and the BJP in the evening. It's not what I do. I have no desire to hug anyone. I requested that the pension be paid out of people's taxes, not from the monthly pay-offs. It is our right," she said.
