Guruvayur: Prior to the beginning of Sabarimala 'Mandalam’ pilgrimage season, the related arrangements were initiated in the Guruvayur temple. ‘Homagni’ was lit up at 'Vathil Madam’ and cleansing rituals were held on Sunday night. The allied rituals were also held in the presence of Tantri Chennas Dineshan Namboodiripad and his son Krishnan Namboodiripad.

After ‘Sheeveli’ on Monday morning, ‘Bimba Shudhi Abhishekams’ will take place. On November 16, as Mandalam season begins Guruvayurappan will be wetted with ‘Kalabhabhishekam’ during after noon Pooja. At night ‘Sreebhootha Bali’ will be held.

From first Tuesday of Malayalam month Vrishchikam to  Dhanu first, there will be 5 processions for ‘Sheeveli’ in the morning session. The period will have special musical celebrations like ‘Iduthudi’ and ‘Veeranam’.

As the season commences, ‘Panchagavyam Abhishekam’ for Lord Guruvayurappan will begin. The period will also witness special ‘Vedhamantradhara’. Meanwhile, the cleansing rituals for the ‘Upadevathas’ on Sunday were concluded with ‘Kalashabhishekam’ for Bhagavathy.
