Kozhikode: A young man in Thamarassery sustained severe injuries in an attack by an Indian bison (gaur).
Rijesh (35), son of Damodaran from Kattippara, was the victim of this incident, which occurred at 8 am on Saturday morning.

Rijesh, who was working alongside his father tapping rubber, was unexpectedly attacked by a bison. The injured man was immediately rushed to Thamarassery Taluk Hospital for treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
A week ago on May 19, three individuals died of bison attacks in Kottayam and Kollam districts.
In Kottayam, one man attacked in front of his house while the other was working in the grove at the time of the assault. In Kollam, the deceased was at his residence premises.
On the same day, reports of bison attacks emerged from Thrissur’s Chalakudy as well.
