Adoor: The police here arrested a man in connection with a clash that led to the death of a newspaper agent here. Ranajith, 43 who suffered severe head injuries died while undergoing treatment at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.

Following his death, Adoor police arrested Anil Kumar (44) over charges of the attack.

Ranajith was attacked on March 27 following a dispute in a WhatsApp group. The police had registered a case and launched an investigation after recording Ranajith's wife Sajini's statement. 
Sajini had told the police that her husband was injured in the ensuing altercation over personal grievances over a debate in a social media community.

During the police investigation, it was learnt that there was a previous rivalry between the accused and Ranajith. Based on this, a detailed investigation was launched. On the night of the incident, there was an argument between the accused and Ranajith. According to police, Ranajith died after suffering severe head injuries sustained in a skirmish.
