Sulthan Bathery: The man-eating tiger which has been spreading panic in the Wayanad region over the last few days has been finally trapped and caged by the search team.

The tiger which killed a dairy farmer in Moodakolly village last week has now been successfully captured by the forest officials after days of hard work. The man-eater got trapped in a cage placed at the Koodalloor colony, close to the spot where the big cat had killed a man recently.

It should be noted that forest officials have been trying to capture the man-eater since the last week or so. Kumki elephants were also roped into the search operations. The search team consisted of 100 officials.

The tiger had killed dairy farmer Prajeesh 9 days ago. Meanwhile, it is reported that the locals have blocked the vehicle carrying the tiger. They are staging a protest asking the officials to kill the predator right there.

Forest officials and police are trying to find a way out of the situation.  More details are awaited.
