Ahmedabad: A complaint has been lodged alleging that a Malayali advocate under the Gujarat High Court went missing amid a train journey from Ahmedabad to Mumbai the other day. The person missing is Sheeja Gireesh.

The Gujarat police and Malayali organisations in Mumbai have initiated a probe into the incident.

It is learnt that Sheeja, who was on her way to the Bombay High Court as part of a case, remained in touch with her family till the train reached Vapi, Gujarat. Following this, her phone was unreachable and she could not be traced even as the train arrived in Mumbai. It is assumed that she went missing between Vapi and Mumbai.

Anugraha Nair, Sheeja’s daughter, told Mathrubhumi News that she last spoke to her mother on Monday at 12 noon. Although she tried to call her later, there was no response. Around 7.30 pm, her phone got switched off. Soon, we lodged a complaint with the police and an investigation is underway, Anugraha said.

Meanwhile, Anugraha revealed that a person had threatened her mother in connection with a case a year back. “A man had lodged a fake complaint against my mother with the bar council. He later came to our house and threatened us. We lodged a complaint against him and the case is still pending,” she added.
