Afeeliya, picture of bruise shared to sister

Malappuram: The relatives of the Malappuram native woman, who died at Abu Dhabi alleged mystery behind her death. Parents of Afeeliya accused her husband and in-laws of being responsible for her demise.

Afeeliya had sent the pictures of her with bruises on face and audio message in which she was found weeping to her sister, just before the death. The parents have lodged complaints with the Kuttippuram police and district police chief requesting an investigation in the incident. Meanwhile, the mortal remains were brought to Manjeri medical college and conducted postmortem.

Afeeliya’s parents informed the police that her husband used to beat her whenever he was angry. He had also seized her mobile phone at times. In a voice message sent to her sister, Afeeliya said if she died from Abu Dhabi, her husband will attempt to turn it as a suicide.

Afeeliya’s husband had informed the relatives that he found Afeeliya lying in her room unconscious when returned from his office on June 11 and she died only after reaching the hospital. Afeeliya had gone to Abu Dhabi with her husband in March. The couple got married eight years back. The relatives said that there were issues between them earlier too. Afeeliya is survived by a four-year-old child.
