Shoranur: Two High School students from Malappuram have been arrested by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for allegedly throwing stones at the Vande Bharat express.
The incident pertaining to the arrest had happened on August 21. The window panes of the train were broken after being hit by stones. Following the incident, the train was halted at the Shoranur railway station for covering the damaged portion using stickers.
The two students confessed to have committed the act while they were quizzed in the presence of their parents and teachers. They will be produced in front of the juvenile justice board on Thursday.
A team led by Shoranur RPF commander CD Clari Vlasa caught hold of the accused. Incidents of stone pelting at Vande Bharat express were reported from districts of Kozhikode and Malappuram earlier as well.
