Kozhikode: Since the investigation team has failed to spot the two police officers accused in connection with the operation of a brothel at Malaparamba, it is reported that the probing team plans to issue a lookout notice in this regard.

Earlier this month, a police team had raided an apartment in Malaparamba on the basis of information that a sex racket was operating from the premises. Following the raid, two police officers from the city police were named as accused in the case along with another person.

The lookout notice has been issued for senior CPO Shaijith, a native of Perumanna, and CPO Sanith, a native of Padanilam, Kunnamangalam—both drivers at the district police headquarters—as well as Amanish Kumar, one of the key operators of the establishment.

It had already been confirmed that the police officers had a role in running the brothel. Large sums of money had been transferred to the accounts of the two officers, who were regular visitors to the center. After being named in the case, both officers went into hiding. Although their mobile phones were active yesterday, they have since been switched off. The investigation is progressing with the assistance of the cyber police.

The relationship between one of the officers and a woman named Bindu began in 2020 in connection with a similar case. According to the investigation team, he obtained her phone number and continued the relationship thereafter. The involvement of the police officers came to light during the interrogation of Bindu and two other women who were at the center.
