Thiruvananthapuram: APM Mohammed Hanish IAS has been relieved of his duties as the principal secretary in the directorate of industries and commerce and appointed as the principal secretary at the health department.
Though he was appointed in the revenue department on Monday, the order was corrected and rereleased by appointing him in the health department.
The state government had entrusted Mohammed Hanish to prepare a report on the artificial intelligence-enabled surveillance camera controversy after the opposition alleged corruption in the contract of the project. Though he has been transferred from the industries department, the report is likely to be filed within two days before he takes over the health department.
Tinku Biswal IAS, who had been serving as the principal secretary in the health department is designated as the principal secretary in the revenue department, while revenue additional chief secretary Dr A Jayathilak IAS has been given charge of the income tax department, excise scheduled caste/scheduled tribe, tribal development and personnel and administrative reforms departments.
Reportedly, Tinku Biswal has been appointed to the revenue department on the request of minister K Rajan. The minister expressed his discontent with appointing another officer as the principal secretary in the department despite requesting for Tinku. The officer will be in charge of disaster management, and housing departments as well.
Meanwhile, chief secretary VP Joy is assigned the additional charge of the personnel and administrative reforms (official language) department. It is a rare move.
