Kozhikode, Kerala: Leading business group Unibound Catalyst Pvt Ltd has announced a Rs 870-crore investment for a major integrated project in the education and tourism sectors in Balussery.
The company has submitted the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and applied for single-window clearance, the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Limited (KSIDC) said in a statement on Saturday.
Industries Minister P Rajeev welcomed the proposal, assuring full government support. “This major investment proposal reflects on the highly conducive industrial ecosystem prevailing in the state. Also, this is a project that aligns well with the Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) policy of the government,” he said.
The 96-acre project site at Kottoor village near Balussery will feature a sports-integrated education park, an amusement park aligned with national university programmes, and a wellness hub. The initiative is expected to generate 2,000 direct jobs, the statement said.
Commenting on the project, company directors Sundheep V Elias and M P Suhail Gafoor said, “We propose to start the work on the project immediately.”
