Kochi: MLA K Babu said that the allegation raised by M Swaraj that Lord Ayyappa's name was misused to woo voters in the election campaign was baseless. No slips carrying name of Ayyappa was used anywhere in the constituency, Babu told Mathrubhumi.com.

Babu was responding to the plea filed in high court by Swaraj, who was the LDF candidate in Thrippunithura, requesting to cancel the election result in the constituency and to declare him as the winner.

"I know about Swaraj's allegations only through media reports. Everything alleged in the plea are baseless. One of those who alleged about the slips is a DYFI member. If I get any notice over this case, I'll deal with it legally after discussing with lawyers, Babu made it clear.
