Kollam: Overturning all exit poll predictions, NDA candidate B B Gopakumar has secured a victory in the Chathannoor constituency in Kollam.
He faced off against LDF’s R Rajendran and UDF’s Sooraj Ravi in a closely watched contest.
Chathannoor had been a primary focal point for the BJP in the Kollam district, though the party faced huge anxiety after exit polls failed to forecast a win here.

Despite the predictions, the party leadership remained confident, citing their strong performance in the previous two elections where they finished as runners-up. Having narrowingly missed the mark in 2016 and 2021—years when CPI's G S Jayalal held the seat—Gopakumar’s success marks a historic shift for the Chathannoor constituency.
