Preliminary reports suggest that the driver may have lost control of the vehicle, leading it to crash through the bridge railing

Kochi: A tipper lorry met with an accident on Thevara Bridge in Kochi, Kerala after breaking through the railing and partially hanging over the edge. The vehicle, which was transporting waste from Thoppumpady to Kochi city, is now left precariously positioned, with nearly half of it extending over the backwaters.
The staff on board are reported to have jumped to safety before the situation worsened, and no casualties have been reported so far.
The exact cause of the accident is yet to be confirmed. Preliminary reports suggest that the driver may have lost control of the vehicle, leading it to crash through the bridge railing.
Traffic in the area has been severely disrupted following the incident. Police and fire and rescue services have reached the spot, and efforts are currently underway to remove the vehicle and restore normal traffic flow.
