
Thiruvananthapuram: Labour Commissioner and NORKA (Non-Resident Keralites Affairs) Secretary K Vasuki along with a group saved the day by singing the national anthem at the inaugural ceremony of Loka Kerala Sabha on Friday. The event was held at the Sankaranarayan Thambi Hall in the legislative assembly.
Following the announcement, the chief minister, other ministers, and representatives stood up for the national anthem. But even after several minutes when the recorded national anthem was not played, Vasuki, along with the anchorpersons and others, rushed to the stage to resolve the crisis by singing the national anthem.
As the Chief Minister and ministers had gone to Nedumbassery to pay their last respects to those who died in the Kuwait fire tragedy, the inauguration of the Lok Kerala Sabha was rescheduled to 3 pm on Friday.
The celebrations of the Lok Kerala Sabha, which were to be conducted on Thursday, were cancelled due to the Kuwait fire tragedy.
