Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Secretary Tom Jose said that the state is divided into different zones on the basis of COVID-19 transmission according to the central government's criteria. As per the Centre's rules, if no positive case is reported within 21 days, the place will be Green Zone.
When the central government published the new list, two districts in Kerala are in Red Zone, two districts in Green Zone and the rest in Orange Zone. But as per the list of Kerala, four districts are in Red Zone and the rest are in Orange Zone, the chief secretary added.
The restrictions to be imposed after May 4 will be on the basis of the Centre's instructions. But public transportation will not be restored now. The states cannot decide on the restrictions. Even though the states can intensify the restrictions, they have no authority to relax the lockdown norms, the chief secretary made it clear.
