Local holiday declared in Thiruvananthapuram’s Chirayinkeezhu and Varkala taluks on December 31 for the 93rd Sivagiri Pilgrimage; schools and government offices to remain closed.
Thiruvananthapuram: In connection with the 93rd Sivagiri Pilgrimage, a local holiday has been declared on December 31 for certain taluks in Thiruvananthapuram district.
The District Collector has announced the holiday for Chirayinkeezhu and Varkala taluks.
All educational institutions and state government offices in these two taluks will remain closed.
However, the holiday will not affect previously scheduled public examinations. The Sivagiri pilgrimage will take place from December 30 to January 1.
