Kollam: CPM Nedumpana local secretary Sajeevan has alleged that Kannanellur Circle Inspector harassed him during a mediation meeting. He raised the complaint through a Facebook post, accusing the police of mistreatment.

The allegation has put both the police and the CPM-led ruling front in another trouble. They are already under pressure over the Kunnamkulam custodial violence case in Thrissur, in which the victim is a Youth Congress leader. Sajeevan’s complaint from within the ruling party has intensified criticism.

Sajeevan said that during a case-related mediation on September 4, the Circle Inspector harassed him without reason. He clarified that his Facebook post was not against the party, and added that if it led to his removal from positions, he would not bother.

In his statement to Mathrubhumi News, Sajeevan said he had filed a complaint with the Chathannoor ACP regarding the assault, but no action was taken.

Meanwhile, local CPM leaders are reportedly trying to intervene and persuade Sajeevan to resolve the matter amicably.
