Kozhikode: Loktantrik Janata Dal (LDF) has decided to merge with Rashtriya Janata Dal. The decision was taken in LJD’s state council meeting held in Kozhikode. The party’s leadership took the decision after taking into account the relevance of RJD in national politics in the current scenario. It should be noted that the Rashtriya Janata Dal had played a pivotal role in forming the grand opposition alliance named ‘INDIA’ for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, hoping to put an end to the dictatorial rule of Narendra Modi.
The council discussed the urgent need to put an end to the draconian rule of the BJP that has been ruling the country for the past nine years, dismantling the democratic and secular fabric of the nation. The LJD party members stressed the importance of putting an end to BJP’s juggernaut in national politics.
The council also said that it accepted the people’s mandate in the Puthuppally bypoll, and vowed to review the situation, for identifying LDF’s wrong moves in the election.
LJD also raised the demand for a state cabinet post that has been long pending. LJD state president MV Shreyams Kumar chaired the meeting.
MK Premnath, Charupara Ravi, V Kunjali, Sunny Thomas, MK Bhaskaran, EP Damodaran, Salim Madavoor, NK Valsan, Manayath Chandran, KK Hamsa, and Sabah Pulpatta addressed the gathering.
