Thiruvananthapuram: Though it has been decided to open liquor shops as part of lockdown relaxations, liquor sale will be delayed as the app for arranging virtual queue is not ready yet. The mobile app had already passed many stages of trial. The Beverages Corporation had entrusted a private company to develop the app.
The mobile app should be able to overcome the heavy rush of customers which is expected after the virtual queue system comes into force. The final stage of testing of the app was complete.
The app contains details of 301 public sector liquor outlets, 500 bars and 230 beer and wine parlours in the state. Rest of the sale points also will be added as they show interest.
The procedures to add the app in Google Playstore is progressing. Liquor sale will resume as soon as the app is ready, informed the Beverages authorities.
