New Delhi: The bail granted to M Sivasankar, former principal secretary to the Chief Minister and accused in the Life mission case, has been extended for two months. The Supreme Court extended the bail based on Sivasankar’s plea requesting for more time citing his spinal surgery.
The SC had earlier granted Sivasankar bail for two months for his treatment. As this period will expire on October 2, Sivasankar approached the court once again seeking an extension of the bail period.
The advocate representing the ED, Additional Solicitor General K.M Nambiar, objected to the extension. Ignoring this objection, the SC granted the request and verbally observed that Sivasankar should surrender after the expiry of the term.
