Kochi: The Kerala High Court (HC) in a new order directed all to register their domestic and pet animals at the concerned local bodies so as to take license within six months. The HC direction came after a nine-year-old labrador was brutally killed by three at Adimalathura in Thiruvananthapuram a few days back.
The civic bodies were also directed to issue guidelines in this regard and stipulate a three-month period to obtain license after buying the pet. A direction was also given to reorganise the state animal welfare board and to avoid jumbo committees.
