Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala backs V D Satheesan as CM, leaving Cabinet selection to the new leader’s discretion.

Guruvayur: Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has officially welcomed the Congress High Command's decision to appoint V D Satheesan to his new role as Chief Minister. Speaking to the media following a visit to the Guruvayur Temple, Chennithala clarified that Satheesan has his best wishes and complete support.
He emphasised that the incoming government bears the heavy responsibility of liberating the people of Kerala from 10 years of "misrule”, expressing his belief that the public will stand firmly behind the new administration.
When questioned by journalists regarding his potential inclusion in the new ministry, Chennithala said that the final decision on the Cabinet’s composition rests entirely with the Chief Minister.
While he did not explicitly state whether he would join the Cabinet, Chennithala’s responses suggested a willingness to move forward with the party, provided he is given due consideration.
A regular visitor to the temple on the first day of every Malayalam month, the veteran leader arrived in Guruvayur at 11.00 last night. After performing the Nirmalyam darshan in the early hours of the morning, he completed his visit by 3.30 am and departed for Thiruvananthapuram.
