Public homage for Kozhikode MLA Kanathil Jameela on Tuesday. Hartal in Koyilandy Assembly constituency. Shops closed.
Kozhikode: The last rites of Kanathil Jameela MLA will take place on Tuesday. The body will be kept for public homage at the EMS Memorial Town Hall in Koyilandy from 11 AM to 1 PM.
A hartal will be observed in the Koyilandy Assembly constituency organised by the LDF from 2 PM to 5 PM. Public homage will also be held at the CPM District Committee office, the CH Kanaran Memorial Building, from 8 AM to 10 AM. A silent procession and condolence meeting will be held in Koyilandy on Wednesday at 4:30 PM.

Koyilandy Merchants Association president KK Niyas and general secretary KP Rajesh announced that shops will remain closed from morning till afternoon on Tuesday as a mark of respect to the late MLA. However, hotels and cool bars in the town will remain open on that day.
