Kochi: Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA has filed an appeal with the High Court challenging the decision of the Vigilance Court in the CMRL monthly pay-off case.
Earlier, a Vigilance court dismissed Kuzhalnadan's plea seeking a Vigilance probe against Kerala Chief Minister and his daughter Veena Vijayan, citing a lack of evidence and alleging political motives behind the accusations.
The vigilance court stated that there was no prima facie evidence to support the allegations, thereby concluding that the petition did not fall within the ambit of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Kuzhalnadan on Saturday approached the High Court, urging it to reconsider the observation made by the Vigilance Court. The High Court will consider the petition on Monday.
Notably, the case is under investigation by multiple agencies, including the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), Income Tax Department, and Enforcement Directorate.
