Kozhikode: The KSU workers on Tuesday besieged the office of Regional Deputy Director (RDD) in Kozhikode to protest against the dearth of Plus One seats resulting in even students with full A Plus in Class 10 not getting admission, and were arrested.

The police forcefully removed the protesters, including the women workers. Two students who did not get seats despite getting A plus in all subjects came to protest.

The police action was taken after the protesters, led by KSU district president Suraj, were not ready to disperse. Although the police officers held discussions with the KSU activists earlier, they were not ready to leave without getting a proper answer from the RDD. Following this, a conflict erupted.

The main demand of the protesters was to increase the number of Plus One seats in Malabar, where the students who have got full A plus are staying out even after two allotments. The activists were forcibly removed by the police when they had an altercation with the cops who had come to negotiate.
