Kollam: KSRTC finds itself in the center of controversy once again as it plans to reintroduce the single-duty system, a reform that had previously met with failure. The move has already triggered protests from employee unions.
Initially implemented at the Parassala depot with the aim of bolstering KSRTC's profitability, the single-duty system failed to deliver the expected financial gains. It encountered protests from employees, leading to its withdrawal.
Despite past setbacks and financial losses associated with the reform, KSRTC is contemplating to reinstate it. However, this decision has been met with opposition from various quarters, particularly from union representatives who fear adverse effects on workers and the corporation's finances.
