KSRTC will launch a WhatsApp-based ticket booking service on Thursday, allowing passengers to reserve bus tickets through a multilingual and Manglish-friendly platform.

Thiruvananthapuram: Booking tickets for Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses is set to become easier, with the corporation launching a WhatsApp-based ticket booking service on Thursday.
Transport Minister C P John will inaugurate the facility, which will allow passengers to reserve tickets through WhatsApp. A dedicated WhatsApp number for the service will also be launched.
According to the government, the service has been designed to make ticket booking more accessible by supporting communication in multiple languages. Passengers will also be able to interact using Manglish, a commonly used Malayalam transliterated into English.
The initiative is part of the government's broader efforts to improve KSRTC services and make public transport more convenient for commuters.
Earlier this week, John said the government was working to strengthen KSRTC by expanding its fleet through MLA funds, cooperative society common good funds and private sponsorships. He said the corporation needed more buses to meet passenger demand and improve public transport services across the state.
The WhatsApp booking facility is expected to simplify ticket reservations by allowing passengers to access the service through a platform that is already widely used across Kerala.
