Thiruvananthapuram: The much hyped 'KSRTC Driving Schools' have not yet begun functioning. The KSRTC had made the announcement in a bid to teach the driving school owners, who were on protest recently against the driving test reforms proposed by the Transport Department, a lesson. However, it has remained unsuccessful in executing the plans so far.

Even as the Corporation has purchased vehicles for the same, the tracks were not prepared to train the learners.

At Attakulangara KSRTC training college, it seems the vehicles are left to rust. Despite procuring vehicles for training people, nothing was done to remove the waterlogging from the ground for practising ‘8’ and ‘H’. Even a new board reading ‘KSRTC Driving School’ has been erected at the centre, but the ‘classes’ are yet to commence.

Theory classes were also planned at the driving centre. However, the KSRTC’s plans for less expensive ‘driving classes’ looks like a distant dream.
