Chengannur: Around 40 people were injured in a collision between a KSRTC Superfast bus and a tourist bus carrying a group attending a betrothal function at the Christian College junction on MC Road in Chengannur. Some of the injured are reported to be in serious condition.

The accident occurred around 10:30 am on Sunday. The KSRTC bus was traveling from Adimali to Thiruvananthapuram, while the tourist bus was en route from Anayadi to Thengana.

The injured have been admitted to various hospitals in Chengannur. Efforts are underway to remove the vehicles using cranes and restore traffic flow.
