Thiruvananthapuram: KSRTC announced a 30 per cent discount in ticket rates on routes acquired from the private buses. The relaxations in the bus fare will be available in 223 superclass services. 

KSRTC’s move to attract passengers came up when the private buses resumed services on these routes with the support of a court order. 

Certain private buses were operating services on routes which cover more than 140 kilometres. With legal aid, KSRTC ousted the private buses from long routes and acquired these routes. 

KSRTC is operating superclass services in the takeover routes mainly centered in Idukki, Kottayam, and Ernakulam districts.
