Shoranur: In the wake of rumours that Shahrukh Saifi, the prime accused in the Kozhikode train arson case, received aid from locals, the police are centering their investigation in and around Shoranur area. The police have obtained the visuals of the accused passing in front of the Shoranur police station.

As per reports, the Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) and district police chief R Vishwanadh arrived at the railway station and carried out inspection to collect the CCTV footage. Furthermore, the visuals from outside of the police station were also examined following information that Saifi had purchased petrol from Shoranur.

In the footage, the accused is seen holding a bag and walking to the town from the railway station. The probe team has also reportedly inspected some houses in a colony in Shoranur, where Saifi is suspected to have arrived ahead of the attack.

Earlier, the accused was supposed to be taken to the petrol pump in Shoranur for evidence collection. However, Saifi was not brought to the area, instead special branch officials arrived and collected all the necessary information.
