Kozhikode: In the ongoing investigation of the Pantheerankavu dowry abuse case, Rahul's mother has spoken out, shedding light on the events leading up to the alleged abuse. According to her statement to Mathrubhumi news, the accused, her son, was at home during the incident. She refutes claims that dowry was ever requested from the bride.

Describing the events of the night in question, Rahul's mother recounts that the couple had attended a wedding and had drinks before heading to the beach. It was after their return from the beach that a confrontation ensued, triggered by a phone call the wife received from her boyfriend, which she allegedly attempted to conceal from her husband.

Clarifying the nature of the abuse, Rahul's mother asserts that her son did not use a belt but rather hit his wife with his hands. She attributes any visible injuries, such as a lump on the wife's forehead, to her purportedly hitting a wall during the altercation.

Highlighting the intoxicated state of both parties involved, Rahul's mother admits to her son's drinking and smoking habits but denies any involvement in drug use. She refutes allegations of dowry demands, emphasizing that her son, a resident of Germany with a substantial income, had no need for dowry.

Rahul's mother said that the altercation was due to a momentary lapse of anger.
