Kozhikode: The family of a young hotel employee who jumped from a building in Mukkam while resisting an alleged assault by her employer and his associates has released new evidence supporting her claims.

According to the family, a video recorded just before the incident shows the hotel owner and staff harassing the woman. The footage, which was automatically recorded while she was playing a mobile game, captures her cries for help and attempts to resist.

In the video, the woman is heard pleading, “Let me go, I will come,” while the hotel owner is allegedly heard saying, “Don’t be afraid, it’s just uncle, don’t make noise, my reputation will be ruined.”

Relatives claim that the owner had repeatedly tried to lure the woman into compromising situations and have further evidence to corroborate their claim. The victim, a native of Payyanur, Kannur, was working at a private hotel in Mukkam when the alleged incident took place.

On Saturday night around 11 PM, hotel owner Devadas, along with employees Riyas and Suresh, allegedly barged into the woman’s rented residence and attempted to assault her. In a desperate bid to escape, she jumped from the first floor, sustaining injuries. Hearing the commotion, neighbors rushed her to a hospital. She is currently undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.

Based on her statement, police have registered a case against the three accused under charges of trespassing and assaulting a woman. However, the suspects remain absconding, and no arrests have been made so far.
